Who we are
Black Chauffeurs is a private chauffeur service in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth and the Gold Coast (ABN 87 713 290 525). This page explains how we handle personal information. You can reach us any hour on 0481 474 527 or at blackchauffeurs.com.au@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Trip details you give us when you ask for a fare, book, or send a special request: your name, phone number and email, the pick-up, stops and drop-off, date and time, number of passengers, flight number, luggage, child seat needs, any notes, and a discount code if you use one.
- Messages you send us by phone, WhatsApp or email.
- Payment details. Card payments are taken by Stripe on its own secure page. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a record that the payment was made, its amount and the booking reference.
- Technical information such as your browser, device, IP address and the pages you view, collected by the tools listed below.
Why we use it
- To work out your fare, take and run your booking, and tell your driver what they need to know.
- To send your booking confirmation and contact you about your trip.
- To take payments, give refunds and keep the business, tax and legal records we are required to keep.
- To keep the website working and understand how people find it and use it.
- To measure and improve our advertising, as explained below.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who helps us handle it
We use these services, and they receive the information they need to do their job:
- Netlify hosts this website and receives booking and enquiry forms.
- Stripe processes card payments.
- Our email service (Resend and Gmail) sends booking emails to you and to us.
- Google provides the maps and address search used to price a trip, and our Google Business Profile.
- YouTube videos on some pages load in privacy-enhanced mode.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) for advertising measurement (see the next section).
- Our drivers and partner operators receive the trip details they need to complete your journey.
Some of these providers are based overseas, including in the United States, so your information may be handled outside Australia. We only share what is needed for the service.
Advertising and the Meta Pixel
This website uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta, to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform and to show our ads to people who may be interested. When you visit, Meta can receive your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you view, and a few actions on our site: starting the card checkout, sending a booking, and completing a card payment (with the amount paid). The Pixel uses cookies, including one called _fbp.
We do not ask the Pixel to send what you type into our forms (such as your name, phone number or email). Meta handles what it receives under its own privacy policy.
To opt out you can change your Facebook ad preferences, turn off third-party cookies or use a tracking blocker in your browser, or choose not to use the site. The booking and quote pages also keep your latest quote choices in your browser (session storage) so they carry between pages. That stays on your device.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as we need them for the trip, for accounting, tax and legal reasons, and to deal with any question or dispute afterwards. When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or de-identify it.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure connections (HTTPS), limited access to booking records and card payments handled by Stripe. No online service is completely risk-free, so please do not send card numbers by email or message.
Your choices and your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Email blackchauffeurs.com.au@gmail.com or call 0481 474 527. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and its date.
